Quick Summary

In the United States, various AI Agents have emerged for tasks like new business development, customer support, and SNS management. Small and medium-sized companies (SMCs) and entrepreneurs are using these tools to expand their businesses, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Many services are also available in Japan. Before introducing them, let’s briefly explain the concept of an AI Agent.

1. What Is an AI Agent?

"Generative AI (LLM) + Functions" = AI Agent AI Agents utilize AI technologies like ChatGPT (LLM = Large Language Model) to not only respond to questions but also autonomously execute tasks based on human instructions and surrounding information.

There is no clear-cut definition of an AI Agent. However, the concept has expanded, and many systems vaguely resembling agents are also being referred to as AI Agents. The formula below helps clarify the concept: "Generative AI (LLM) + Functions" = AI Agent

Example: "Automated Blog Creation Agent"

Every day at 10 a.m., the agent accesses specific web media, reviews articles on relevant themes, selects a topic, creates a blog draft based on the owner's preferences, and posts it on a blog.

In this example:

  • The AI (LLM) handles theme selection and draft creation.

  • The "agent" executes tasks like accessing web media, collecting articles, and posting the blog.

An agent is defined as a system that autonomously handles tasks using "LLM + actions."

2. Benefits for Businesses

AI Agents can deliver benefits across various aspects of business, such as:

  • Increasing Revenue

  • Reducing Costs

  • Maintaining and Enhancing Quality

3. Low-Cost and Ready-to-Use

With the rise of ready-made AI Agents, it has become easy for small businesses and individuals to adopt these tools. Many services are available at low or even no cost, with some tools allowing implementation in as little as 10 minutes.

4. Summary

AI Agents became a major trend in U.S. business scenarios starting in 2024. While Japan focuses on custom development, the U.S. has already introduced numerous ready-made AI SaaS (AI Software as a Service) solutions that can be used for just a few thousand yen. Most of these services are accessible in Japan as well.
